A STRONG trusting relationship connection with the LORD God is first and foremost in reaching Optimal Health! No matter how hard we try to do it on our own, we must realize first that there is NO true healing apart from Jesus Christ. He is the Source of ALL blessings - which flow directly from His (our Creator & Restorer's) hands. May God receive the glory in all things.
Did you know?...
...By following 8 simple principles, you could be well on your way to peak spiritual and physical fitness?! NEWSTART is an acronym in which each letter is the genesis of a word packed with knowledge and instruction that's vital for healthy living. These eight words summarize 8 laws for healthy living!
THE 8 HEALTH LAWS:
N=Nutrition
E=Exercise
W=Water
S=Sunshine
T=Temperance
A=Air
R=Rest/Relaxation
T=Trust In God
When we violate the laws of nature sickness, disease, and death are the result! We should regard these as highly as we do the Ten Commandments. To be blunt - and I hope you don't mind - destroying our bodies 'on installment' (daily practice of bad habits) is just as worse as if we were to place a gun to our heads and pull the trigger. One is instant; the other slow and miserable. Both of these actions violate God's command, 'Thou shalt not murder' (Exodus 20:13). I have personally realized this fact, and that if I know to do right and refuse to do it, the Bible says I have sinned. (See James 4:17; Romans 14:23)
AT-A-GLANCE EASY TIPS
(Click the link(s) at bottom to view information in it's entirety in the 'Radiant Living' Magazine.)
Here are some simple things to do on your journey to Optimal Health. These things I too am implementing.
* Commit to taking one hour every morning and evening to do Bible study, Devotional, worship, Meditation. Health is Spiritual remember?!
* Get to bed before 10:00 pm. The body heals itself between 10 pm and 12 pm.
* Drink half of your body weight in ounces of water.
* Drink ONLY water - preferably room temperature. Cut out soda's and other drinks except for special occasions only a few times per year.
* Drink water 15 minutes BEFORE and/or 2 hours AFTER your meals! Drinking with meals creates gas in the stomach and gives you that 'beer-belly' appearance. Food continues to rot in the stomach rather than digest because the stomach acid has been diluted. Following this step will help you reduce your tummy and will also help rid of acid reflux!
* Walk at least one hour or 3 miles per day. The BEST time is in the morning so that your motabolism will remain elevated over the course of the day. The BEST location is FREE and God-given (outdoors).
* No snacking between meals!! There is no such thing as a healthy snack. Your stomach needs up to 5 hours to digest food and should be allowed to rest after completion of digestion. So wait 5 to six hours after one meal before you take the next. Eat your snack with your meal!! Snacking adds Calories like crazy! Drink only water in between your meals.
* Breakfast should be your largest meal which should contain Fruits nuts grains and cereal; Lunch should be smaller but a very filling meal of Vegetables, grains, lentils, nuts etc. Dinner is optional and should be very light if taken; some fruit and a slice of toast. You're about to go to bed and the body is winding down.
* Don't mix fruits and veggies together at meals and eat them first since they digest faster than the heavier items. You never want spoiled food in your stomach so eat in the order of digestion. Water first (15 minutes before eating), then fruits or veggies, grains, and finally nuts or fatty items - which take the longest to digest.
* Avoid or limit fruit juices which are high in calories!
* Cook at home. You'll have no doubts about how your food was prepared.
* Reduce or totally eliminate flesh meats from your diet.
---- Consider this: How do creatures such as the elephant, ox, cow, and horse get all of the protein needed to build such massive muscle? Their bodies takes what it needs from their plant-based Total Vegeterian diets! Considering this fact, why get SECOND-HAND protein from animal meats when we can get it FIRST HAND from consuming a wide variety of vegetables, fruits, nuts and grains!
........ This is by no means the most comprehensive list of advice, but just the little that I've posted is a LOT to take in. Just take one or a few steps at a time. It usually takes one month of consistent behavior before it becomes a habit. This is not a race but a lifestyle, a process, in which it may take just as long to acclimate to healthy living as it did for us to learn to live unhealthily. Whatever you do, consistency is key!!
